Dates for your 2024 diary are Friday 19th July to Sunday 21st July. This year we are very pleased to welcome back a Burrell steam engine from New Zealand, which has been in the UK since 2020 having a complete overhaul by Neil Gough and had boiler work carried out by Mervyn Mayes. The engine will be doing a few shows this year, before returning home to New Zealand.
Burrell 'Duke of Canterbury' built in 1910 was exported to New Zealand working commercially, with ploughing and haulage up until 1955, entering preservation in 1958. This engine exhibited here at Weeting Rally twice before, in 2001 and 2019, we welcome her back for 2023! Below are some photos from her working days, with credit to the current owner Phil Kerr. Only two weeks to go and we'll be in full swing of day one of our three day event!! Lots to see, lots to do and plenty of fun to be had...join us for a family fun fay or weekend out!
